The present study is to delineate early and late complication rates of cataract surgery in both SICS and ECCE.
We have conducted a prospective case study in patients attended Outpatient Department of Government General Hospital, Kakinada during the period of 2010-2012.
One hundred cases of cataract extraction (classical ECCE, Manual SICS, with or without PCIOL implantation) were observed during the postoperative period from 2010-2012 for the incidence of complications of cataract extraction.
In this study, more number of complications are associated with ECCE when compared to Manual SICS.
