A CLINICAL STUDY OF COMPLICATIONS OF CATARACT SURGERY SICS VS. ECCE

PURPOSE
The present study is to delineate early and late complication rates of cataract surgery in both SICS and ECCE.
METHODS
We have conducted a prospective case study in patients attended Outpatient Department of Government General Hospital, Kakinada during the period of 2010-2012.
RESULTS
One hundred cases of cataract extraction (classical ECCE, Manual SICS, with or without PCIOL implantation) were observed during the postoperative period from 2010-2012 for the incidence of complications of cataract extraction.
CONCLUSION
In this study, more number of complications are associated with ECCE when compared to Manual SICS.
